Braids is one of my favorite bands. Their debut album, “Native Speaker”, which released at the beginning of this year and is absolutely perfect. Their attention to detail in their music and live shows is impeccable. I love their dreamy instrumentals and gorgeous vocal harmonies. While touring most of the year, winning hearts of music fans opening for Toro y Moi and successful headlining tours, Braids were also gaining attention for their incredible album. They were nominated for the 2011 Polaris Music Prize and just won “Indie Rock Album of the Year” from the 2011 Quebec Indie Music Awards. They are currently touring in Europe with Wild Beasts so make sure you check them out if you can.
