lovelovelove: New Azealia Banks track “NEEDSUMLUV”

18 Jan

I am so stoked for Azealia Banks’ new record. She won my heart after her badass track, “212″ and I love “NEEDSUMLUV” just as much. She has such a unique, creative and awesome sound. I love that she can rap and has a gorgeous singing voice with so much soul and sex that Aaliyah would be proud. Check out the track below:

Hey all,
I am writing a very important message from the bottom of my heart. The U.S. government has gone a little crazy again apparently, and wrote a bill to basically censor everything we love on the internet. That means for Americans there will be no more youtube, images, blog sites, google, wikipedia, reddit, you name it. Websites you go to everyday, that spark creativity and education (including musical education) gone! A sample post from me after this bill passed would be this:

[No photo of the band]
First Aid Kit consists of two gorgeous sisters from Stockholm, Sweden who make absolutely beautiful music together. “Emmylou” is the second single from their new album, The Lion’s Roar comes out next Tuesday, January 24th. “Emmylou” is such an incredible song. Good luck trying to hear or find it, because it is not posted anywhere on our internet, because it’s censored.

Obviously, that is no fun, for anyone. Make sure your favorite bands and sites to find new incredible music are not blocked! Click here to sign a petition today. If you live outside the US please, for the love of all that is good, help us, also by clicking here.

Thank you so, so much in advance and as always for reading.

Love you forever,
Cher

lovelovelove: First Aid Kit “Emmylou”

First Aid Kit consists of two gorgeous sisters from Stockholm, Sweden who make absolutely beautiful music together. “Emmylou” is the second single from their new album, The Lion’s Roar comes out next Tuesday, January 24th. I love their light, vintage, acoustic-folk sound, their effortless vocal harmonies, and their beautiful storytelling lyrics. They are playing at Union Transfer in Philly on March 31st! You can purchase tickets here. Their tour starts in February, so if you don’t live in Philly and love their music make sure you check out their tour dates here! Watching these sisters perform together is just inspiring, even when it’s on tv. Last year they performed Patti Smith and Ivan Kral’s “Dancing Barefoot” at the Polaris Music Prize ceremony, and brought Patti Smith, watching in the audience, to tears. How incredible it must have been to even perform that song in the same room, let alone have your performance move her to tears. Listen to “Emmy Lou” and check out the video of First Aid Kit performing “Dancing Barefoot” below:
