epic music video xx: M83 “Reunion”

M83 is back with another epic music video featuring creepy-awesome superhuman kids. This time it’s for my favorite track off of their new record out now Hurry Up, We’re Dreaming, called “Reunion”. The video also features a subtle tribute to MCA, the brilliant Adam Yauch from the Beastie Boys who recently passed away. The tribute occurs 47 seconds into the video (they are going to Adam Yauch Ave). M83 released a new EP for the single, by the same name Reunion. The Reunion EP is out now with remixes by Mylo, Dale Earnhardt Jr. Jr., Sei A, The Naked And Famous, Polly Scattergood, and White Sea. M83 also announced they will be performing at Austin City Limits Music Festival and Pitchfork Music Festival Paris. They will tour North America again starting in Philly (woo!!!) at the Electric Factory August 1st. After their killer show at Union Transfer, I can’t wait for dance party round 2 in August!

lovelovelove: Friends “Home” from debut album Manifest! out June 4th!!!

Friends have released another awesome track that will be on their debut album Manifest! out June 4th on Lucky Number Music. The track “Home” follows other favorites by the band that will be on the album including: “Friend Crush”, “I’m His Girl”, and “Mind Control”. I can’t wait for this album! You can pre-order the album now through Rough Trade (with a bonus disc), Itunes, and Amazon. Friends is one of my favorite bands right now and definitely a band I want to be in. Their music is incredible, infectious, and they are so much fun to see live. This weekend they will be playing Field Day and Dot to Dot festivals in the UK before headlining Dingwalls in London next Wednesday June 6th with Reptar. If you’re in the UK make sure you check them out live this weekend or next week! Don’t forget to pre-order their new album Manifest! or pick it up from your favorite local record store June 4th!

sweet Cherry, extraordinary // obsessed xx: Splashh “All I Wanna Do”

Don’t mind if I do! Another beautiful band of boys from London that know how to make gorgeous music. It was love at first listen when I first heard Splashh‘s dreamy “All I Wanna Do” (and it’s not just because my best friends call me Cherry and I am taking it as a shout out). The music video is just as reminiscent of the 90s and I absolutely love it. Check it out below, I can’t wait to hear more music from this band!

‘RAAAAAAAAAY!!!!!! Dreams do come true! One of my favorite bands, Little Comets, are back with dreamy longer hair, hints of moustaches, a new song and live recording video for “Jennifer” (sounding absolutely brilliant), and a new EP Jennifer and Other Short Stories. Who could ask for anything more?! Well, I can if the question is, “Can you please come tour the US now?” thank you!! The EP is out now in the UK so make sure you get your copy!

Philly show NOT to be missed xx: Cold Specks at Johnny Brenda’s TONIGHT!!!

Happy Memorial Day!! Today I am celebrating all the amazing men and women who have fought for our country over the years at my parents super rad annual memorial day party. It’s so nice to spend some time with the fam and my friends from home. As much fun as I am having today, I cannot wait to get back to my home of Philly tonight to see London’s Cold Specks with Great Lake Swimmers at Johnny Brenda’s. Cold Specks is 24-year-old Al Spx who just released her debut album I Predict A Graceful Expulsion through Mute Records which you can buy here. The album is moving, gentle music perfectly mixed with Al Spx’s rough, real voice that carries a beauty, toughness, and maturity that sounds well beyond her young age. Some of my favorite tracks from the album include “Winter Solstice”, “Hector”, “Blank Maps”, and the choral “Send Your Youth”. I am so excited to get the chance to see and hear them live tonight! Philly Get On The Guest List xx: CHAPPO ticket giveaway show this Wednesday at The Fire!!!

Brooklyn’s psychedelic space rock dream band CHAPPO is coming to Philly this Wednesday to play the Fire, the sixth stop on their 24-date tour which includes Bonnaroo Music Festival in Tennessee, supporting Of Montreal and ends at SUMMERFEST in Milwaukee. CHAPPO recently released their debut album Moonwater through Majordomo Records/ Shout Factory! The album is available now on Itunes including a deluxe edition with bonus tracks. You can stream the entire new album on Spotify. The band released a new NSFW music video for their track “Hell No” which you can watch below. Also enjoy their music video for the track “Come Home” off Moonwater which involves a little bit of everything I love: redheads, moustaches, glitter and making out.

obsessed xx: Psychic Twin “Gonna Get Her”

It’s officially the weekend and I couldn’t be happier! I am at the beach with my sister and her friends celebrating her birthday, then heading back home to Philly for a day, then hitting up my parents super rad annual Memorial Day party on Monday. I can’t wait to see my family, it’s been so nice hanging out with my sister. Although it’s been on and off raining in Philly, when the sunshine is out it feels like summer. Whenever I hear a track like this, whether it’s raining or not my mind wanders to sunshine, summer nights, long drives, and wreaking havoc in the city. This song by Illinois band Psychic Twin “Gonna Get Her” is definitely part of my summer playlist. “Gonna Get Her” is releasing on 7″ vinyl on June 26th with only 500 copies! The single will also be released digitally and you can pre-order your copy here. Have a great Saturday wherever you are with whoever you’re there with!!

lovelovelove / Epic Music Video: Dale Earnhardt Jr. Jr. “We Almost Lost Detroit”

Dale Earnhardt Jr. Jr. are back with another incredible single from their new album It’s A Corporate World out now in the US and out in the UK on June 25th (patience is a virtue UK, and totally worth it…this albums rocks!!). “We Almost Lost Detroit” is Dale Earnhardt Jr. Jr.’s fun interpretation of a dreamy Gil Scott-Heron classic. They are releasing the single on July 2nd. In true Dale Earnhardt Jr. Jr. fashion the video is awesome, hilarious, and has their personalities written all over it. I have to say seeing them performing at the end of the video in suits and bowties gets me all kinds of hot and excited to see them live. If you live in the UK this can be you for various festivals over the summer! As always I will keep you posted with live dates and new music as I hear about them.
