If you haven’t already had your copy of The 1975‘s self-titled debut album spinning for the past week, (you probably don’t live in the UK as it is the #1 album right now) stop sleeping on it and get your copy right now.
I’ve been a fan of The 1975 for a while now, as many of you have. They have teased us for a year of incredible EPs, touring and playing some of the new tracks live, all leading up to this generous 16 song debut album of new songs and remastered favorites. You can hear their John-Hughes-movie-soundtrack influence as the album flows perfectly to each new track, setting a new scene, telling a new story. Listening to the record for the first time is so exciting, going into it, you think you already have a favorite song from their EPs, but then you find new favorite songs like “Heart Out” (that saxophone though!), and the heart-wrenching “Robbers”. One of the hardest working
band of babes bands in music right now, this release is just the beginning for them. They are touring the UK right now, and coming back to the US in October. The 1975 will be making their way to Philly to play Union Transfer on October 12th! Tickets are only $15, I would get yours now here or at the box office because they will sell out and this will be one of the best live shows you see this year. The 1975 will be going home to UK to tour for a couple months in early 2014, so whether you live in the US or the UK make sure you keep up with their tour dates here and see them live as soon as you can.
Make sure you get your copy of The 1975’s debut album The 1975 now on iTunes, iTunes Deluxe, Amazon, The 1975 store, or your local record shop. The album will definitely one of your favorites in your collection!
