morning jam xx: NZCA LINES “New Atmosphere”

4 Nov

Today, a somewhat unsuspecting day, I opened up Spotify to add more jams to my nostalgia playlist when it happened. I clicked my notification, was it a new follower? New album? No. It was a new single from one of my favorite musicians and people of all time, NZCA LINES. I’ve been wondering when we would be treated with new music from him all year and today is that blessed day. His new single “New Atmosphere” is more beautiful than you could have ever hoped or dreamed. Listen below:

“New Atmosphere” is releasing on Moshi Moshi Singles club on December 8th on limited edition 7″ vinyl and download! You can pre-order it now here. I will continue to keep you posted on all new music from NZCA LINES and word of his new album as soon as I hear it.

Morning Jam xx: Southern “Where I Want To Be”

23 Jul

Do I need to marry into this family to join the band? If so, I’m okay with that. Lucy and Thom Southern are the brother-sister duo that make this incredible Belfast-born, Liverpool-based bluesy, rock’n’roll powerhouse.

Southern released another electric single “Where I Want To Be” due out August 18th! The track has the brother-sister vocal harmonies you know and love with seductive, body-moving instrumentals, and lyrics to sing at the top of your lungs. Southern have stayed true to releasing singles to soundtrack your summer and “Where I Want To Be” is a great addition. To buy Southern’s self-titled EP click here. Follow Southern on Facebook, Twitter and Songkick for tour dates.

morning jam xx: Looks “Everest”

14 Jun

Looks Washed out

Happy Saturday people! It’s been an insane past month. After going to 5 different cities in England in 9 days, and burying myself in music, I immediately went to Seattle, another mecca for music fans. Now I’m back in Philly and I can’t even comprehend the amount of shows in the next coming week you absolutely can not miss. That post will follow, so keep your eyes peeled.

One of my favorite moments this week was hearing this gorgeous new track from London-based band Looks. I wish I knew of them/found them while I was over there because there is no doubt in my mind that they will be one of my favorite new bands this year. Their new single, “Everest” takes you on a journey with gorgeous, layered, vocals and mesmerizing, blood-pumping instrumentals. The track is a perfect mixture of modern and nostalgic sounds that carry their way through your ears and straight to your veins.

“Everest” drops on June 23rd and Looks are having a single launch party show at Birthdays in London the following day! The show is FREE and will also feature Holy as support. RSVP on Facebook here and send it to all of your friends. Doors are at 8PM and the show is 18+ if you are anywhere near the London area, go and dance your hearts out for me.

late night listen xx: Ben Khan “Drive (Part 1)”

15 Apr

Ben Khan

I’m back from a road trip from Philly to Coachella and 4 glorious, ridiculous, absolutely incredible days in California. After two hours of sleep and a day working, I could not be more pumped to deliver you a dark, sultry, addictive new track from British dreamboat Ben Khan for tonight’s late night listen.

I’ve had “Drive (Part 1)” on repeat all day and definitely added it to the Makeout Music Playlist for your hearing pleasure. The track is from Ben Khan’s upcoming 1992 EP due out May 5th which you can pre-order now here! I’m already obsessed with the EP and can’t wait to hear more new music and am looking forward to his full length album. His music is perfect for getting down in a live setting and I’m also hoping he heads over to the States to grace us all with those knee-weakening tunes in concert.

To keep up with Ben Khan, follow him on Facebook, Soundcloud, Twitter, and track future shows on Songkick here.

Afternoon Jam xx: Southern “Where The Wild Are”

10 Mar

I know most people hate/ are afraid of change, but I actually love when I hear a song in it’s early days, then the re-recorded version for the album. I think it is fun to see a band grow and develop as they get closer to releasing  a new album. This is the case for brother-sister duo Southern. The band released an acoustic track I loved called “Where The Wild Are” not too long ago. Then, I heard the newly released harder, more sultry version, and it brought a new life to the track. The song has a brand new attitude and added intensity, it’s impossible get excited about hearing new music from the band. Listen to the song below and follow Southern on Facebook , Twitter, and track all future live shows from the band on Songkick here!
