Jack Antonoff, one of our favorite creative minds in music, is back with new music via Bleachers! His anthemic new single called “Don’t Take The Money” released last week ushered in summer on the East Coast and already feels like the soundtrack of the summer. If this epic new jam is any indication of what the album, entitled Gone Now, is going to be like we want an advanced copy now. Antonoff officially announced the new Bleachers album is due out June 2nd, so here’s to pre-ordering as fast as you can!
“Don’t Take The Money” is out now and you can get your copy here! Bleachers will be touring for most of the summer starting with two sold-out dates in NYC and LA. See tour dates and ticket links below. Although there is no Philly date currently listed (come on Jack!), we can’t wait to see Bleachers at one of our favorite East Coast festivals, Firefly, this year! Firefly Music Festival announced their 2017 lineup today for the festival in Dover, Delaware June 15-18th. The festival, which is a mecca for music fans from Philadelphia is one of the best festivals on the East Coast and this year the expansive and diverse line-up truly has something for every music fan. From headliners including The Weeknd, Muse, Twenty One Pilots Chance The Rapper and Bob Dylan, to Philly favorites Louie Louie, Blossoms, Glass Animals, Flume, The Shins, AFI, Busta Rhymes, Maggie Rogers and so many more, it’s going to be a workout trying to fit all your favorite artists in. I can’t wait for this weekend, mainly because it’s going to be jam packed with some of my favorite artists thanks to Firefly Music Festival in Dover, DE!
This Sunday, Australian singer-songwriter, Vance Joy, will be taking the stage. He’s playing earlier in the day so make sure you get to The Lawn at 12:30PM sharp!
His addictive single “Riptide” is one that will stay in your head for days and you’ll want it to stay there. If you don’t get the chance to come to Firefly this weekend, make sure you catch him at Lollapalooza and Outside Lands festivals later this summer!
I am loving this new track from The Neighbourhood! They are touring in support of their debut album I Love You, and will be stopping in Philly on June 25th at Union Transfer with The 1975!!! This show has been sold-out for quite some time, if you missed tickets, try catching The Neighbourhood at Firefly Music Festival in Delaware this weekend or in another city on their tour listed here!
Who’s playing?? Everyone I love. Dispatch, Kendrick Lamar, HAIM, Wild Belle, The Neighbourhood, Toro y Moi, Django Django, Calvin Harris, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Red Hot Chili Peppers and Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers(!!!!!!!!!!!!!!) are just a few I am beaming over. It is going to be another really, really good time in Delaware. Check out the official lineup video here:
The festival takes place this year on June 21st-23rd in Delaware at the Dover International Speedway. General admission and VIP passes go on sale Thursday February 21st on the Firefly’s website here!
Check out this incredible video of my time at Firefly last year, shot by my extremely talented friend Brigette! We had such a blast last year I cannot wait repeat it this year!!
Cheryl Dunn does NYC 2012 round 2! After playing a show in NYC last Thursday and a festival in Maine this weekend, my travel life is getting a ton of action all at once. Although I
should be am exhausted, it’s like taking shots of Redbull every time I listen to a Bombay Bicycle Club or Totally Enormous Extinct Dinosaurs song today at work. I have this work day to get through then I am off to NYC to see Bombay Bicycle Club live (for the 7th time) tonight at Webster Hall! I can’t wait, they are one of my favorite bands ever (if you couldn’t already tell) and they are so much fun to see live. Tomorrow I will be wreaking havoc in NY as well as posting some beloved memories from Firefly Music Festival. Tomorrow night, I am going to see Totally Enormous Extinct Dinosaurs for the second time in NY at Music Hall of Williamsburg. Totally Enormous Extinct Dinosaurs, or Orlando Higginbottom, is my British dream part I & II. Talk about dance dream man! I cannot wait to get my dance on with him again tomorrow night before he goes to Lollapalooza this weekend.
By some miracle tickets are still available for both shows, so get your tickets here for Bombay Bicycle Club tonight and here to get your dance on with me at Totally Enormous Extinct Dinosaurs tomorrow night!
*fun fact: “Household Goods” is my ringtone and the song I wake up to every morning.
Everyone is still buzzing from Firefly, the festival absolutely rocked this weekend. For me, the weekend involved me seeing some of my absolute favorite bands and musicians including Jack White, The Black Keys, Bombay Bicycle Club, Reptar, Yeasayer, Grouplove, Graffiti6, Modest Mouse and The Killers…and also sleeping in a van for 3 days, sneaking in hotels to get ready for the day, and dancing 10+ hours a day. AKA living the dream. I had so much fun seeing some of my favorite bands here are some photos I uploaded over the course of the incredible weekend on my Instagram (@mylifeinsound). If you missed Firefly this year, or are missing it already because you were there, a limited number of discounted tickets will be going on sale tomorrow at noon ET here for the 2013 Firefly Music Festival. The line up is to be announced, but if it is anything like the lineup this year, it is going to be RAD.
