morning jam: Violet Sands “No Matter What”

25 Jan
violet sands

Listen new music from Violet Sands now!

Start your week off right with an incredible new single from Violet Sands, “No Matter What”. Violet Sands is a new project of some of my favorite artists: Deidre Muro (Deidre & the Dark, previously Savoir Adore), David Perlick-Molinari (French Horn Rebellion) and Derek Muro (Love Like Deloreans, Mighty Five). “No Matter What” is catchy, nostalgic, and reminiscent of some of my favorite 90s jams.

Listen to Violet Sands “No Matter What” below and keep up to date with their new music here.

Listen to Flume’s new track “Never Be Like You” featuring Kai!!

kai

Flume has released a new track just in time to melt away your winter blues. Like a Tinder date gone right, “Never Be Like You” featuring Kai is the result of the two incredible artists connecting online and again offline. Flume says of the track, “We were sending ideas back and forth online, then met up in NYC and this is what we did,”.  Well thank goddess for the internet am I right? Kai’s addictive lyrics and graceful vocals floating across the track will have you singing along while Flume’s beats will have your body moving. It’s great to hear such epic new music coming from both artists and I cannot wait to hear what else they have up their sleeves.

Flume’s “Never Be Like You” featuring Kai is available for download now here!

morning jam: NZCA Lines “Persephone Dreams”

14 Oct

NZCA Lines

It was like Christmas came early when NZCA Lines released their new track “Persephone Dreams”. As I was counting the hours here waiting for new music (listen to the track and you will understand later-I promise), the now trio released six minutes and twelve magnificent seconds of pure bliss. “Persephone Dreams” is an epic, musical journey that will make your heart explode. Between the vocals, the harmonies, the keys, the drums, the steel drum surprise (!!!!), the lyrics, this song is an absolute dream made for listening on repeat. No seriously, I put this song on repeat on Spotify for literally 8 hours and it still gets better with age. The single is the first taste of the upcoming album Infinite Summer due out of Memphis Industries. Listen to the track below now:

Love the song as much as I do? Memorize the lyrics below before their upcoming show at Oslo Hackney in London on December 14th! This will be the first show leading up to NZCA Line’s upcoming album Infinite Summer due out on Memphis Industries. They will be supporting Dutch Uncles and Outfit. For tickets and other information follow the event on Songkick here!

NZCA Lines “Persephone Dreams” Lyrics:
If only the wind slowed down
I’d feel you were here somehow
It carries me back, straight into you
If only silently
You were carried on the air I breathe
Hurry me back

Are you ready now
Do you really want the night to end
Only when I’ve been counting the hours here waiting for you
Are you ready now
Do you really want it all to change
Only when I’ve been counting the hours here waiting for you
My love

Over the ground like fire
Do we generate this light
That only surrounds, closer to you
We separate like halves
I see what you are dreaming of
Hurry me back
And tell me you’ll wait til this can’t be broken
And tell me you’ll wait til the time is chosen

Make sure you follow NZCA Lines on Soundcloud, Facebook, and Twitter!

Morning Jam: CRUISR “Throw Shade”

18 Jul

CRUISR

Move over Taylor Swift, this has to be the most upbeat, fun, f- you song I’ve heard in a while.

CRUISR
‘s new single “Throw Shade” released yesterday via Vagrant Records! You can get your copy via iTunes and Amazon now.

CRUISR recently played tour dates with Imagine Dragons and Bleachers and will be on the road again next week with Young Rising Sons! For tickets, tour information, and to see when you can catch CRUISR in your city click here!

Until then, listen to the new single “Throw Shade” and memorize the lyrics to sing back to the band below:

Lyrics:
When you meet your maker
Tell em i already know
It’s just an undertaker
When you sell your soul

So don’t you get me started
I don’t believe a word you say
Sayin’ she’s an artist
I thought you were a hurricane?

You’re dead to me
Rest in peace
You can let me be

If you wanna throw Shade
I’m gonna throw you away, no
If you wanna throw Shade
well honey i’ll see you never, see you never

No you’re nothing but an enemy
Trippin’ on a brand new brag
You found your fake identity

Spend your money on a Mai Tai
Then you’re sipping on a french rosé
I been saving for a Citywide
I give it all away

You’re dead to me
R.I.P.
You can let me be

If you wanna throw Shade
I’m gonna throw you away, no
If you wanna throw Shade
well honey i’ll see you never, see you never

Good riddance
I mean I’m really gonna miss you though
Good riddance
I mean it’s oh so sad to see you go

morning jam: AVAN LAVA “Wanna Live” + Show Recap!

1 Jun

avanlava by solidstares

Wow. I don’t know what to say besides AVAN LAVA are an incredible band, in the studio and especially on stage.

When Avan Lava took the stage at Milkboy last Wednesday, I knew it was going to be good…but it wasn’t just good, it was fucking spectacular. The show started with full force and stayed that way all the way through. Playing most of their new album Make It Real (out now on Atlas Chair Records), the band showered us with confetti cannons, an epic light show, and synchronized dances. Thanks to the electric energy from the band, the Philly crowd got a dance workout worthy of Studio54.

Lead singer TC Hennes has an incredible, boundless voice that soaring whether he was dancing, jumping out into the crowd, or straight-up standing on his head doing yoga poses on the stage. You can tell that the band is having an amazing time together and the show becomes the ultimate dance party. The crowd did not want the show to end, and luckily the band agreed to an encore.

Avan Lava then ended their show strong with their cover of one of my favorite songs by Mark Ronson and the Business Intl. “Somebody To Love Me”. If you haven’t seen this band yet, make sure you are closely following them on Songkick to see when they are coming to your town. If you love to dance, it’s an experience you do not want to miss.

morning jam: Commonwealth Choir “Palace”

27 May

Palace_HighRes

Philadelphia’s dream team Commonwealth Choir have just released their new single “Palace”. The vibrant, summery track was recorded in the band’s house in Fishtown and produced by their good friend Dan Pawlovich (currently drumming for Panic! at the Disco and formerly of Valencia/Illinois). The band is currently working on their first full-length release and after hearing this track, we can’t wait to hear more.

“Palace” is available for streaming on Spotify, listening on repeat via iTunes, and for making your beach vacation playlist on Soundcloud.

xx Cher
