Jack Antonoff, one of our favorite creative minds in music, is back with new music via Bleachers! His anthemic new single called “Don’t Take The Money” released last week ushered in summer on the East Coast and already feels like the soundtrack of the summer. If this epic new jam is any indication of what the album, entitled Gone Now, is going to be like we want an advanced copy now. Antonoff officially announced the new Bleachers album is due out June 2nd, so here’s to pre-ordering as fast as you can!
“Don’t Take The Money” is out now and you can get your copy here! Bleachers will be touring for most of the summer starting with two sold-out dates in NYC and LA. See tour dates and ticket links below. Although there is no Philly date currently listed (come on Jack!), we can’t wait to see Bleachers at one of our favorite East Coast festivals, Firefly, this year! Firefly Music Festival announced their 2017 lineup today for the festival in Dover, Delaware June 15-18th. The festival, which is a mecca for music fans from Philadelphia is one of the best festivals on the East Coast and this year the expansive and diverse line-up truly has something for every music fan. I can’t wait for this weekend, mainly because it’s going to be jam packed with some of my favorite artists thanks to Firefly Music Festival in Dover, DE!
This Sunday, Australian singer-songwriter, Vance Joy, will be taking the stage. He’s playing earlier in the day so make sure you get to The Lawn at 12:30PM sharp!
His addictive single “Riptide” is one that will stay in your head for days and you’ll want it to stay there. If you don’t get the chance to come to Firefly this weekend, make sure you catch him at Lollapalooza and Outside Lands festivals later this summer!
For a girl with an Alex Turner mouse pad at work, I have to say the struggle is real, but thank goddess I am not as psychotic as the crazed fan in the music video for “Snap Out Of It”. Many fans are commenting on the video that they think it’s an egotistical move on Alex Turner’s part…Instead, I think it’s hilarious.
Arctic Monkey have always had a great sense of humor with everything they do and I think this video proves that. The star of this music video is, stereotypically, a gorgeous model. When she comes out of the pool in the beginning of the video, she could be anyone’s dream girl. Then, we see her true colors. She is a psycho stalker of the band and her obsession with them, particularly Alex Turner, is pretty terrifying. Paired with the whimsical music and lyrics of “Snap Out Of It,” it’s clear that the band is getting a message across that they don’t get anyone liking or obsessing over them that much. With her crying and some of the faces she makes in the video, I couldn’t help but laugh the entire way through. Again, I don’t think it’s an egotistical move on Alex Turner’s part or the band as a whole. I think it’s hysterical! Hopefully you do too.
Check out the video below and make sure you see Arctic Monkeys play Firefly Music Festival in Dover, DE this Friday. I will be there, dancing harder than the model at the end of this video.
I love Little Comets. Everything they do mesmerizes my ears and melts my heart. If their new single “Grow” doesn’t make you weak in the knees for this band I don’t know what will. The single is from their upcoming EP Salt which you can pre-order now here. The 5-track EP is due out June 16th.
Little Comets will be headlining a show at 02 Academy 2 Newcastle in the UK before heading to the US to play Governors Ball Music Festival and Firefly Music Festival, as well as a show at Glasslands Gallery in NYC and North Star Bar in Philly! For tickets and tour information click here.
Make sure you get tickets to their North Star Bar show June 8th here! Tickets are only $10 and this is one of the best live bands you are ever going to see. You’re welcome.
As longtime fan of Jack Antonoff (Steel Train was my JAM in high school and up until they called it quits…okay they’re still my jam), I was ecstatic to hear that he has a new project called Bleachers. FUN. was highly successful and all, but see Jack sing his own songs while he blows your mind playing his guitar is an electricity that ever music fan should feel.
I was even more excited to hear his new single “I Wanna Get Better”, a windows down, stereo UP shout-along jam you can listen to on repeat and not only never get sick of, but love a bit more every time. The single is from Bleachers’ debut album due out this Spring on RCA Records! He also performed the song Late Night with Seth Meyers, you can watch it now here.
Antonoff’s babe Lena Dunham (favorite couple alert) directed an incredible new music video for the song featuring some hilarious characters (watch now below). Bleachers are set to play some more shows including X Fest, Governors Ball, Wireless, Lollapalooza, and Firefly Music Festival this summer! To make sure you never miss a Bleachers show in a town near you, follow Bleachers on Songkick here!
I am loving this new track from The Neighbourhood! They are touring in support of their debut album I Love You, and will be stopping in Philly on June 25th at Union Transfer with The 1975!!! This show has been sold-out for quite some time, if you missed tickets, try catching The Neighbourhood at Firefly Music Festival in Delaware this weekend or in another city on their tour listed here!
