1 Mar

jamie-isaac-by-ashley-rommelrath

South East London’s Jamie Isaac is taking bedroom music to a whole new level worthy of changing ‘Netflix and Chill’ to ‘[Listening to] Jamie Isaac and Chill’. His lush new sound of hauntingly mesmerizing and romantic electronic ballads, tinged with jazz and hip hop throughout makes this brilliant debut, Couch Baby, one of our absolute favorites. Jamie Isaac will be doing his first tour of the US in support of the record, playing several dates including SXSW and Boot and Saddle in Philadelphia tomorrow night, March 2nd. To coincide with the tour, Marathon Artists will be releasing a revisited version of the album including new tracks,  remixes, and even a cover of Alicia Keys’ “Un-thinkable”.

Don’t miss catching this amazing artist live in Philly tomorrow night. Tickets are $10 and available here or at the venue ($12 day of show). Doors are at 7:30 and the show starts at 8PM with Olukara and J U S T P R O C E S S as support. Boot & Saddle has great happy hour specials and food so get their early to get your grub on and don’t miss the opening acts.

Our new favorite song “Cake” by FREAK is served up with an equally epic new music video, watch below!

Essex-based FREAK serves up some serious bone-shaking rock’n’roll with his new single, “Cake”. Just when you thought the track couldn’t get any better, Freak released an epic music video for “Cake” which you must watch below. Try not to lose a whole day by watching it 500 times in a row like me (worth it though!). You can purchase your copy of “Cake” to listen to on repeat now here.

OOOH GIRL!!! Tash Sultana gives us all an “Electric Feel”

10 Feb

tash

Oooh girl! The singer-songwriter and looping artist, Tash Sultana, just made the most baby-making cover of MGMT’s classic “Electric Feel” for Triple J’s Like A Version. The mind-blowing cover is clearly just a snippet of what her live show is like. Thankfully, she is heading out on a US tour next week so we can see for ourselves!

Tash Sultana will be in Philadelphia next Saturday, February 18th, so my fellow Philly fans can watch her slay in person. She will be playing at World Cafe Live upstairs and the super-intimate show is unsurprisingly sold-out. If you were lucky enough to get tickets the show starts at 8PM and the doors open at 7pm. Make sure you get there on time to catch fellow Australian musician Josh Cashman open the show.

Listen to both artists and check out more tour dates for their US tour below!
