YES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! America’s favorite British band of brothers (and dreamboats) The Cribs are coming back to America, and starting their tour tomorrow in Philly!! The boys will be playing Johnny Brenda’s, one of my favorite bars/venues in Philadelphia. By some miracle (get yours ASAP!!!) tickets are still on sale for $15 via Ticketfly and at Johnny Brenda’s if you want to pay with cash (no service charge). I am so stoked to see them again after the release of their new album In The Belly Of The Brazen Bull out now through Wichita Recordings. The boys recorded the new album between Abbey Road Studios in London, Steve Albini’s EAR studio in Chicago (which is represented in their song “Chi-Town” on the album), and David Fridmann’s Tarbox Road studio in Upstate New York. Obviously, the new album completely rocks and I am so stoked to hear the songs performed live. The boys will be joined by Brooklyn dreamboat Devin, who is another favorite of mine, so make sure you have your dancing shoes on and get to the show on time at 9:15pm to see him open the show. The Cribs released a new music video for the opening track to their album, “Glitters Like Gold”, and it is just an incredible as the song. Based on one of my favorite 90s pastimes, pop-up videos, the music video gives you an interactive insight to the band. Once the pop up tells you a fact about each member, you can click the pop up and see another video of that proves the fact further. It’s one of the most hilarious and well thought out videos I’ve seen in a while! Also distracting, as it’s so fun to watch/click and see the other videos.
Because I love The Cribs so much I am giving two guest list spots away to fans of Mylifeinsound’s Facebook Page! Just comment on the post “Who wants tickets to see The Cribs tomorrow?” telling me how much you want them and I will pick a winner tomorrow by noon! Good luck and see you at the show tomorrow!!
