Hailing from Kentucky, Knocked Loose was formed in 2013 by vocalist Bryan Garris, guitarist Isaac Hale, bassist Kevin Otten and drummer Dylan Isaacs. They describe themselves as somewhere between hardcore and metalcore and are quickly rising up the ranks as metal’s top 5 bands right now.
During their current tour, with support from Loathe, Speed, and Show Me The Body, they celebrate the release of their new album You Won’t Go Before You’re Supposed To today, on May 10th. And a celebration it was. Opening with “Blinding Faith” from their new album, the audience immediately came to life with circle pits and crowd-surfers. The sold out show was the most packed I have seen this Phoenix venue and with the crowd shoulder to shoulder, the atmosphere of the venue turned into a biome not unlike a summer in the South. During their set, there was not a single person who wasn’t either screaming along, dancing, or smiling, especially when the infamous “ARF ARF,” from “Counting Worms,” played. Constantly looking over my shoulder to make sure I wasn’t mowed down by a surfer, this show was chaotic and pure madness, in the best way. The effect that Knocked Loose has on their fanbase is contagious and their success is absolutely well deserved. The vibrations from the roars and cheers of the crowd and venue-wide mosh pits, and wall of death, made this one of the most fun shows I’ve ever been to.
