For two electric nights at the Music Hall of Williamsburg, indie pop-rock darlings Charly Bliss triumphantly returned to New York armed with jubilant riffs, yearning melodies, and vivacious outfits all imbued with a palpable tenacity and genuinely charming earnestness. Lead singer and guitarist, Eva Hendricks, expressed her appreciation in being able to play in the city where Charly Bliss had formed, especially following an album release that comes five years after their last record. The 20-song set was an energetic explosion of catharsis-reminiscing on old love, lasting friendship, and navigating an increasingly difficult industry-that exemplified the dreamy aesthetics the band has come to be known for.
