Griff is undeniably a pop powerhouse. Watching the British rising star perform on stage at Terminal 5 in NYC felt like a joyous life-affirming experience full of spinning rapturous wonder. Her songs from her sensational debut album, Vertigo, with its lush carefully crafted production, soared gloriously on stage.

“Here’s the deal tonight: we are just here to have a good time. You have complete permission to leave every worry, every anxiety out the door, every permission to dance and sing out of tune,” Griff exclaimed with heartfelt gratitude as she encouraged her crowd to find their personal conviction, embrace themselves, and unleash their inner joy just before going off into one of my favorite new songs, “Hiding Alone.” At this point, the whole crowd felt like they were floating and the vibe was pure magic, reaching places where the concept of vertigo has become not just a sensation but a euphoric state of mind. Griff also surprised fans with a beautiful heart-melting rendition of Charli XCX’s “Apple,” showcasing her ability to effortlessly transform someone else’s song into her style, elevating it, and completely make it into her own.

Griff is a special talent, and this show further cemented her status. I felt changed once my feet landed back on the ground, maybe even finding a part of myself that was once lost or hidden.

You can catch Griff on the rest of her tour here!
