At her recent show at New York’s City’s historic Irving Plaza, Bishop Briggs continues to earn the reputation as one of the most powerful and influential rock/pop vocalists out there.Â
Touring in support of her latest album, Tell My Therapist I’m Fine, Bishop Briggs continued to share her story of personal growth and triumph as she unleashed anthem after anthem. This setlist covered a nice balance of new empowering tunes as well as beloved classic crowd favorites. She was full of heart, earnest joy, and excitement as she jumped around all over the stage, and she did it all while maintaining her signature powerful vocal style and hitting all those demanding notes perfectly.
Briggs an impeccable performer who embodies the epitome of soul and grit. When she’s up on that stage, you can tell she’s always digging deeper to deliver every song with a unique sense of raw power. One of my favorite moments from the show was when she sang some of my favorite tunes off the new album, “Isolated Love,” “Shut It Off“, and “Lightning.” These three have become rousing, cathartic rally cries for me. You can feel that mutual sense of rush from the crowd as Briggs sang them. Her fans are always a special diverse crowd and tonight was full of hardcore fans who hung onto her every note. They kept up with her energy and the whole set a felt like a celebration of an artist in her element.
