This past Saturday Philadelphia eagerly awaited a night of frenetic energy as artists Machine Girl, Lip Critic, and Lustsickpuppy lit up Union Transfer’s stage with unforgettable performances that blurred the lines between punk aggression, rave, and sheer sonic spectacle.

Kicking off the evening were supporting artists LustSickPuppy and LipCritic, each bringing their own blend of gritty, high octane intensity that helped build the already charged atmosphere in the venue. New York based Lip Critic combined the best of hardcore, dance punk, and hip-hop, invigorating the crowd with singles such as ‘Second Life” and “Legs in a Snare.” Brooklyn based artist Lustsickpuppy followed, debuting what can only be described as a passionate meld of punk, digital hardcore, and rap, with tracks such as “Ride it” and “might b” being the highlight of their set.

By the time Machine girl took over, those in attendance were ready to dive headfirst into what felt like an audio assault in the best possible way.  Having carved their niche in the underground scene with their wild fusion of breakneck drums, gabber speed electronic beats, and chaotic noise elements, Machine Girl’s set hit Union transfer like a lighting bolt: raw, unpredictable, and impossible to stand still to. The set featured fan favorites such as “Uzumaki”, and “Ghost”, while also including newer singles such as “Baby, Scrape my Data.”  The performance was a relentless rush from start to finish, with jagged rhythms and unexpected drops that had the crowd navigating the dance floor as equal parts punk show and rave pit. Anything could happen at any moment, and that vibe carried the room.

All in all, the show was an all encompassing communal experience filled with sweat, static, and pure musical adrenaline. Machine Girl, Lip Critic, and Lustsickpuppy delivered an unforgettable experience loved by listeners both old and new.
