Today we get new music from Peter Hayes, Robert Levon Been and Leah Shapiro or Black Rebel Motorcycle Club. Who recently announced their sixth studio album Specter At The Feast set to release on March 19th through Abstract Dragon/Vagrant Records!
Their new single “Let The Day Begin” is a cover song in tribute to Michael Been of the Call, guitarist and lead singer of Black Rebel Motorcycle’s father, who was considered the “fourth member” of the band and sadly passed away in August of last year. The single is upbeat, positive, a whole lot of rock and roll, and impossible not to love.
The majority of Specter At The Feast was recorded at Dave Grohl’s studio in LA on the same soundboard featured in Grohl’s highly anticipated upcoming film Sound City: The Movie and the same console the band recorded their debut album on.
“This record took a long time to pull together,” explains Robert. “I think we all reached the breaking point after our last tour and needed to step back for a bit. These songs brought us back to life and gave us a second chance. I’ve never been more excited to play an album live before, these songs were born to be loud.”
Additional recording of the album was completed in Joshua Tree, CA at Rancho De La Luna Studio and Robert Been’s hometown of Santa Cruz, CA.
Black Rebel Motorcycle Club will be going on a six-date UK tour starting late March! The Big Pink will be supporting. Check out the dates below.
