Coming all the way from Down Under, Northlane brought Philadelphia to its feet with their take on the metalcore genre. This tour served to feature their latest EP Mirror’s Edge which was released back in November of 2023. Their set included songs off the new EP such as the title track, “Afterimage”, and “Dante” but also made sure to give long-time fans hits from their earlier albums like “Worldeater”.
With them, Northlane brought a great lineup of openers with three popular metalcore groups. They drew from their homeland by bringing up-and-coming Australian bands Windwaker and Thornhill who opened the show with energetic performances. Invent Animate was the final opener as they brought their unique sound to the stage before the featured act.
Northlane had Theater of Living Arts moving all night with their metalcore style which combines elements of progressive metal with EDM sounds. Their electronics and LED screens on stage had the place feeling like a club with heavy bass and rhythmic beats that had the mosh pit running all night long.
The North American leg of the Mirror’s Edge Tour runs through July before the Northlane heads to Europe in September.
