One of our favorite bands POND, the psych-rock dream team from Australia came back to Philadelphia to play an epic show at Union Transfer, celebrating the release of their tenth studio album Stung!
So we got the girls together for a rock show we knew we couldn’t miss.

I’ve been going to see POND since their first Philly show and it’s always a band I tell my friends to catch while they’re in town. This time was no different, but it was the one Thursday night the Philadelphia Eagles were playing a home game, yet even with the odds stacked against them, POND filled Union Transfer with fans including me, Shannon, and some of my favorite girls. POND started strong with two of my favorite tracks “Daisy” from their album Tasmania (2019), “(I’m) Stung” and “Neon River” from this year’s release Stung! (2024).
Lead singer Nick Allbrook is constantly in motion, with energy captivating the entire audience as he runs back and forth across the stage, launching himself in and out of the crowd. At a POND show, no matter where you are in the crowd you feel like you are in front row for the show. POND is a band filled with multi-instrumentalists and I loved watching them switch instruments throughout the set to create their epic sound.

With ten albums now under their belt, I have to say this set felt seamlessly filled with some of my favorite songs by POND. “America’s Cup” from POND‘s album 9 (2021) following “Neon River” from Stung! and “Sweep Me Off My Feet” from The Weather (2018) transitioning into “So Lo” the funky and super fun track into “Black Lung” from their new album Stung! was one of my favorite parts of the whole show…POND always offers an epic dance workout when you are seeing them live, and that’s why you can’t miss them when they come to a city near you! The Philadelphia show at Union Transfer was filled with so many of my favorite tracks from POND across their ten-album career, I put them together in a playlist on Spotify for you to listen to below and relive the show!
Not in Philly? POND continue their tour playing in Toronto, Canada at The Danforth Music Hall on Tuesday November 19, Saint Andrew’s Hall in Detroit Michigan on Wednesday November 20th, and in Chicago this Friday November 22nd at The Vic Theatre!
