One of the most memorable shows I witnessed last year was when Peach PRC performed in Brooklyn at the historic venue The Warsaw, a performance that lived rent-free in my head ever since. Once the viral Tik Tok pop star announced a new tour, including a retread to Brooklyn—now this time at Music Hall of Williamsburg—I immediately knew it was a show not to miss. And it was definitely worth the wait, as she delivered another unforgettable set this past Thursday night, a perfect lead up to the weekend where she performed at All Things Go in Forest Hills, Queens.

Seeing a packed crowd of eager fans dressed in pink pastels and unique colorful outfits with eye-catching fairy pixie core aesthetics—it is immediately apparent the impact her music, fashion, and persona have had in shaping a unique safe space throughout her shows for everyone to celebrate queerness and self-expression. I knew i would be in for a special kind of show.

She kicked off her set with “Perfect For You,” from her Manic Dream Pixie EP. The song with its perfect blend of catchy glittery hooks and Y2K-esque maximalist dreamy production (not to mention the iconic “Stars Are Blind” musical callback that everyone loves)—it is a perfect tune to kick off the night. And she followed that up with the viral hit, “Blondes,” another tongue-in-check number that tackles a similar theme about a crush, which has become a lesbian/queer anthem to many. Both these songs complement each other very well lyrically and sonically. And speaking of appropriate pairings, we got to show a big appreciation to Chloe Dadd, her guitarist and collaborator, whose confident on-stage attitude and guitar skills are a perfect complement to Peach PRC’s colorful energy. Their chemistry together reminds me very much of the band MUNA with Katie Gavin and Jo Maskin’s sapphic energy.

Her energy was nonstop throughout, and she held  nothing back in front of the sold-out crowd. With her brutally raw, haunting, unfiltered lyrics wrapped in glittery hyper-stylized fun bops and angelic pitch-perfect vocals, it’s no mystery why Peach PRC’s music and persona have resonated with so many fans. Her shows feel like therapy—an emotional outlet for both herself and her fans, as well as a celebration of queer joy and self-identity. And the evening was filled with so many memorable highlights that reaffirmed her pop princess status. During “Loved You Before,” it was a unique more quiet part of the set with Peach PRC sitting down on a chair and singing while jamming with her Omnichord, and her fans used this opportunity for a fan project by coming together and holding up signs that read “You’re the Sun,” which is in reference to the song’s lyric in the bridge about timeless love, “if I’m the sun and you’re the moon,” right before the final chorus. I love seeing fans coming together and collaborating like this—it imprints a unique moment in the tour and bridges a sincere connection between artists and fans that much closer. You can feel the love throughout the venue.

This marked another memorable night for me and the Peach PRC fans, and it made me even more excited for her All Things Go set this past weekend.
