Beach Fossils new album Somersault is due out on June 2nd via Bayonet Records, but the band is releasing a new single via For Our First 100 Days; One Hundred Songs That Inspire Progress And Benefit A Cause For Change. This album, compromising of 100 previously unreleased tracks from your favorite artists via Bandcamp throughout Trump’s first 100 days in office. Sold through a subscription via Bandcamp  (lowest contribution is $30), you will receive one song a day throughout the first 100 days of Trump’s presidency. All profits will go to organizations that stand in opposition of Trump including: All Above All, Cosecha, Hoosier Action, People’s Climate Movement, and Southerners On New Ground. Beach Fossils have also released their first single off their upcoming album Somersault  entitled “Saint Ivy” which is inspired by New York City artists and celebrates the diversity of this country, just as ‘Our First 100 Days’ does. Beach Fossils encourage their fans to donate to  National Endowment for the Arts and Center for Arts Education NYC, both currently facing massive budget cuts due to the Trump administration.

Thurston Moore “Smoke Of Dreams” + Album Out This Friday + Philly show announced!

Thurston Moore’s new album Rock N Roll Consciousness is out this Friday, April 28th, and if new music wasn’t exciting enough, Moore announced a new tour as well! Thurston Moore will be going on tour in the US this May/July and will be heading to Philadelphia to play Underground Arts on July 22nd!

This week Thurston Moore released his new single “Smoke Of Dreams”, check out the video below! This taste of Rock N Roll Consciousness, starts off a bit melancholy and dark with captivating poetic lyrics, then brightens up when it weaves into upbeat drums, epic guitars and and mesmerizing bass lines that will have you dancing around your room before reminding you that this is a chill song… calm down. No, just me? That’s cool…

 

Rock N Roll Consciousness was recorded in London at The Church Studios with Paul Epworth and was mixed by Randall Dunn at Avast! in Seattle. You can pre-order your copy of the new record now on vinyl/cd via Rough Trade and digitally here!

Philly Show NOT to be missed: The Head play Ortlieb’s 4/20!!!

PHILLY, emerge from your mysterious cloud of smoke into the neon-lit music haven that is Ortlieb’s on 4/20 for an epic rock show featuring Atlanta-based rock trio The Head! The band are currently touring in support of their upcoming full-length album Space due out August 4th.

The band is heading to Philly to one of our favorite venues, Ortlieb’s to rock your 4/20 with new music and an epic live show. The show featuring The Head with Sister City, Sublaymen and Dwight Remington as support is only $10 in advance and you can get your tickets here. The show starts at 8PM and is 21+!

Philly show NOT to be missed: Beach Slang + Minus The Bear at Union Transfer Saturday night!!!

Philly is poppin’ off tomorrow night!! So many great rock bands are coming through our blessed town including a sold-out Minus The Bear show with Beach Slang tomorrow night at Union Transfer! Beach Slang are bringing their gritty, anthemic new tunes from their second album, A Loud Bash of Teenage Feelings released last year to the UT stage. Beach Slang will definitely get your body moving before Minus The Bear take the stage so make sure you are there on time to get your spot on the dance floor at this epic, sold-out show. The show starts promptly at 8PM, and doors open at 7:30PM if you want to try to get that coveted front row spot. Either way, don’t miss this epic show featuring Bayonne, Beach Slang and Minus The Bear!

Philly Show NOT to be missed: Jamie Isaac at Boot & Saddle TOMORROW NIGHT!!!!

South East London’s Jamie Isaac is taking bedroom music to a whole new level worthy of changing ‘Netflix and Chill’ to ‘[Listening to] Jamie Isaac and Chill’. His lush new sound of hauntingly mesmerizing and romantic electronic ballads, tinged with jazz and hip hop throughout makes this brilliant debut, Couch Baby, one of our absolute favorites. Jamie Isaac will be doing his first tour of the US in support of the record, playing several dates including SXSW and Boot and Saddle in Philadelphia tomorrow night, March 2nd. To coincide with the tour, Marathon Artists will be releasing a revisited version of the album including new tracks,  remixes, and even a cover of Alicia Keys’ “Un-thinkable”.

Don’t miss catching this amazing artist live in Philly tomorrow night. Tickets are $10 and available here or at the venue ($12 day of show). Doors are at 7:30 and the show starts at 8PM with Olukara and J U S T P R O C E S S as support. Boot & Saddle has great happy hour specials and food so get their early to get your grub on and don’t miss the opening acts.

Everyone’s favorite UK psych-pop dream team Temples just released a new music video for their single “Strange Or Be Forgotten” from their highly anticipated second album, Volcano, which is due out March 3rd on Heavenly Recordings! Click here to pre-order your copy of the album.

The ever-hardworking band announced a string of tour dates in the U.S. and the U.K. that will have you seeing the band live before you know it. The tour starts tonight at Crystal Ballroom in Portland! Check out the full list tour dates below.

The tour  includes a stop in Philly on May 15th at one of my favorite venues, Underground Arts. Tickets are $20 in advance and this show will sell out so make sure you get your tickets now here. I’ve seen Temples live several times and they always slay live so this is not a dance party you want to miss. Don’t live in Philly? Vincent John by Louie Kovatch. Vincent John will be opening the show tonight at Union Transfer before playing guitar in Lee Fields & The Expressions!

Philly favorite Vincent John will be playing double duty tonight at Union Transfer and you do not want to miss this show! First, Vincent John will be opening the show as a solo artist and then playing guitar for the legendary soul artist Lee Fields & The Expressions.

Vincent John is a multifaceted artist, songwriter and producer who has contributed several songs to Lee Fields & The Expressions and releasing his own EP Never Go Back. The classic 80s pop and R&B tinged EP shows Vincent John’s versatility to weave several genres he is influenced by throughout his music to create a heartbreakingly honest yet danceable collection of songs. Never Go Back is available for purchase on cassette now here and iTunes here!

Don’t miss The Shacks and  Vincent John open for (then play with) Lee Fields & The Expressions tonight at Union Transfer! Tickets are $15 and on sale now here and at the door.
