Philly Show NOT to be missed xx: The dreamiest of bands come together at First Unitarian: Braids, Pepper Rabbit, and Painted Palms 9.7!!

To all of you that just checked your calendar, yes 9.7 means tomorrow!! By some stroke of fate three of my favorite bands, (and hopefully yours) are playing a show tomorrow at First Unitarian Church: Braids, Pepper Rabbit and Painted Palms.

Braids are a band from Montreal who are not shy to beautiful harmonies and creating music that makes you feel like you are in a dream. I wish I had a video of me watching Braids perform for the first time, I am pretty sure my jaw was straight up on the floor the entire time; then again that video probably would have been really embarrassing so it’s better this way I’m sure. Today they premiered the song “Peach Wedding” which will be released as a 7″ split single with fellow Canadians Purity Ring and is due out October 10th on Fat Possum Records:

If you haven’t already check out their video for “Lammicken”:

Pepper Rabbit is a duo from Los Angeles. They just came out with an incredible new LP in August called “Red Velvet Snow Ball” on Kanine Records. The record was recorded in between a crazy tour schedule in which they played with some of my favorite bands including: Passion Pit, Givers, Freelance Whales and Ra Ra Riot. “Red Velvet Snow Ball” is such an awesome and fun album I cannot wait to see it performed live. Right-click (and save as) here to download their track “Murder Room” and right-click (and save as) here to download “Rose Mary Stretch”. Download the remix of “Rose Mary Stretch” by Freelance Whales by right clicking here (and save as).

Painted Palms are an equally dreamy band from San Francisco and Baton Rouge. Their music is incredible and I can NOT wait to see them live. They are signed to one of my favorite named labels of all time “Secretly Canadian”.

High fives to R5 for putting this amazing show together. Get your tickets here if you don’t have them already!

If you don’t live in Philly, check them out in a city near you!
