I will never forget that rooftop with the backdrop of the Austin, TX sunset and sweet sounds of Totally Enormous Extinct Dinosaurs djing to a sweaty, upbeat, smiling crowd of SXSW music fans. It was the first time I saw him DJ and one of the countless times I’ve travelled to see him live. Until today, Totally Enormous Extinct Dinosaurs has never played or djed in Philly. I can’t even tell you how long I’ve been waiting for this moment. The waiting was relieved when I met the gorgeous Orlando Higginbottom after that DJ set in Austin, and he told me that they hadn’t announced it at the time but he would be here, on this day, at Morgan’s Pier. Since then, I’ve practically made an Advent calendar. I’ve been counting down the days and each moment closer, telling everyone I see that tonight is the night of all nights, to get your dancing shoes to Morgan’s Pier.
Kipnap Kid will be setting up the crowd, and Totally Enormous Extinct Dinosaurs will be taking over Philly at 12am. All I have to say to that is THANK GOD IT’S FRIDAY. See you on the dancefloor as I won’t be leaving it for the entire time he is djing. xx
Unfortunately, Orlando Higginbottom released via his Totally Enormous Extinct Dinosaurs Twitter page:
Say it ain’t so! Hopefully it’s not true, but now there is definitely no excuses to miss tonight or at Governors Ball this weekend in NYC!
