obsessed xx: New Arctic Monkeys!!!! “Why’d You Only Call Me When You’re High?…” + trippy music video!

My boys Arctic Monkeys have released a brilliant new single (and music video) from their upcoming album AM available for pre-order now. After originally seeing the tracklist for the new record, I could not wait to hear this next single, “Why’d You Only Call Me When Your High?…”.

The song follows suit with their new sultry sound, while sounding a bit creepy, and lyrically playful. I’m obsessed with the instrumentals, Alex Turner’s vocals (duh) and of course, Matt Helders’ brilliant background vocals. The music video follows a serious trip Alex Turner is having while trying to pursuit a girl after 3am who is just not having it. I can’t imagine not answering the door for Alex Turner no matter what state he’s in…but I guess I would have to see with experience…

The video was directed by Nabil, and the track is available to download now on iTunes, and on CD through Dom Mart and Arctic Monkeys Store! Arctic Monkeys will be playing the Skyline Stage at the Mann Center in Philadelphia on September 18th! I already have my ticket, get yours now here.

xx Cher
