90s dreams are made of this! Waxahatchee is the project of Katie Crutchfield, a 24-year-old Alabama-born musician currently based in Philadelphia. Her new album Cerulean Salt is reminiscent of some of my favorite 90s bands and rock chicks, including The Breeders. The album brings a new life to the sound I grew up on, making it a signature sound only Waxahatchee can claim. “Coast To Coast” is one of my favorite tracks off the new album. The song is so upbeat, fun, and easy to dance and sing along to, I can’t help but listen to it on repeat.
Currently Waxahatchee is touring as a three-piece, supporting Tegan and Sara on their UK tour. Waxahatchee will be playing a bunch of festivals this summer, stopping back in the US to play Pitchfork, FYF Festival, and a free show at Morgan’s Pier in Philadelphia on July 31st with Ted Leo and The Pharmacists! More information on that show here.
