YAY!!! Peace have finally made it from the UK to Philly! I saw them at SXSW in March and they absolutely ruled, since then I have been waiting and waiting for this day to arrive. Even better, there are two incredible bands opening up for Peace tonight, Weekender at 9pm and Team Spirit at 10. Doors open at 8pm so you have plenty of time to get a drink and find your spot to dance in. Tickets are only $12 and you get them here or at the door.
Peace were one of my SXSW 2013 favorites, I saw them play an extremely energetic (and foggy) show at Fader Fort (seriously Fader Fort was all about the fog machine during their set). I had such a good time dancing to the song that made me fall in love with them “Follow Baby” and hearing new songs off their debut album out now In Love. Their music has tastes of early psych rock and grunge, with entrancing guitars, and anthemic lyrics like “we’re gonna live forever baby,” you can’t help but sing along to. Every track I heard after “Follow Baby” seemed better than the last and I was hooked. I can’t wait to hear more songs off the record tonight, in a smaller venue surrounded by Philly’s finest music fans and most importantly, my friends, who will be seeing them for the first time.
