Wow Philly, this weekend is going to rule! Three incredible shows are happening that you need to know about, starting with The Vaccines tonight, a free show with Alt-J tomorrow afternoon, and The Weeks tomorrow night at three of your favorite Philly haunts.
First things first, band of British babes The Vaccines are in town tonight to play Union Transfer at 8PM! The Vaccines have always been one of my favorite bands to see live, and now with some new music to preview from their upcoming record including the gorgeous “Melody Calling” and “Everybody’s Gonna Let You Down”, tonight will most definitely be a special night to see the band and hear their new music before anyone else. I am extremely excited to hear their new record! Based on their new tracks, The Vaccines are experimenting with a new retro-inspired sound I just can’t get enough of. Fans of The Vaccines don’t want to miss this show, and those not too familiar with the band should go because they are guaranteed to make you a fan!
You can get tickets for $20 here or at the box office tonight.

Tomorrow afternoon Radio 104.5 is blessing us with another summer block party, this time with another British band that speeds my heartbeat Alt-J, as well as Walk Off The Earth and Panic! At The Disco. The block party starts at 3:45PM and goes until 7PM at the Piazza at Schmidt’s in Northern Liberties. For more info and set times (which I believe will be posted tomorrow) click here! The show is free and if you haven’t seen Alt-J before, prepare to fall in love.
And this because it’s amazing…if you have Vine, you should probably follow Brendon Urie from Panic! At The Disco:

After the block party, continue the party by going over to North Star Bar Saturday night!! The long-haired earth angels known as The Weeks are playing along with Scott Lucas & The Married Men and Junior Astronomers! Doors open at 9PM and the show is 21+! You can get tickets here for only $10 (what?!) or at the door. The Weeks are a Jackson, Mississippi-based band of brilliant Southern rockers who just released their debut full-length album Dear Bo Jackson. Influenced by funk, soul, and R&B The Weeks have their own incredible fusion-rock sound that just isn’t matched by other bands. You definitely don’t want to miss seeing them in such an intimate venue, so make sure to catch The Weeks live at North Star Bar at 9PM!
