Jen Cloher is back in Philadelphia after supporting Courtney Barnett and our city’s beloved Kurt Vile, and Philly is greeting her with a sold-out show at Johnny Brenda’s! The Aussie goddess is touring in support of her fourth self-titled album, which is out now via Marathon Artists and Milk! Records (which she co-founded with her partner Courtney Barnett)!
When I first heard her opening track “Forgot Myself” I thought, this song is me, I am actually living inside this song. Jen Cloher has such a gift for storytelling you’ll feel like she just soundtracked your diary and is singing it back to you. I can’t wait to see Jen perform this song live along with my other favorites on the record including “Strong Woman”. Listening and loving Cloher’s music is not enough- her music and the honesty in her lyrics makes you want to write your own songs and start your own band. Seeing her perform live tonight is not only going to give us a lightning bolt of energy to power us through our week but the rest of our fucking year, let’s do this 2018!
