One of our favorite bands, Metronomy, are back with a new single we cannot get enough of. Seriously at this point if Spotify could talk she’d ask me “Are you sure you want to play “Lately” for the 40,000th time?” YES I’M SURE. “Lately” is out now everywhere you buy your music. Joe Mount (vocals, keyboards and guitar) said of the new music video:
“This music video is a pop promo in the grand tradition of pop promos: End of school on a Friday afternoon, Mysterious little people that live in a cassette tape, concerned parents and special FX. The song and video are both about growing up.
I’ve absolutely loved taking the opportunity to direct our own music videos. I have quite strong opinions on what music videos are for in 2019 and how they should be presented and this has been a chance for me to put my money where my mouth is!
The most impressive thing I’ve realised is how much of a group effort creating a music video is. I’ve always known it, but this time I’ve obviously worked much closer with the various characters, involved in every department. So, thank you to them.”

Metronomy will be playing a ton of festivals over the course of this summer around the U.K. and Europe, so check to see if they’re playing a festival near you and don’t miss their epic live show!
If you live in London (or can plan a trip there now) Metronomy will be playing a gorgeous, super intimate gig (our fav) at Studio 9294 in London thanks to Eat Your Own Ears on Wednesday June 19th!!!
Here’s all the info you need:
Tickets are not on sale yet, but in order to get tickets you need to go here by tomorrow 11:59PM and register as a “Ticketmaster Verified Fan” in order to get access to the presale. Ticketmaster will then text you with more info and let you know when you are able to buy tickets. The ticket page is here and even has a countdown to the presale, but again make sure you register first herefor a better chance of getting tickets.
The presale for Metronomy’s intimate Studio 9294 show starts on Tuesday June 11th at 9AM and general sale tickets are on sale Wednesday June 12th at 9AM. There is a 2 limit ticket per fan.
If you are lucky enough to get a ticket, there will also be a DJ set from the brilliant Charlotte Adigéry to get things started.
