One of music’s most unique rising stars, Isabel LaRosa, unleashed a powerful performance this past Sunday night at Racket in New York City. LaRosa offers a very distinctive blend of alt electro pop with a fiery delivery and moody visual style that has helped her stand out in social media and pop radio, but her signature sound of ethereal dark pop with gothic undertones doesn’t sacrifice catchy pop hooks. The pop siren opened the set with her seductive viral hit, “Eyes Don’t Lie“, followed by one of her most recents, “Pretty Boy“, and set the tone of the night proper with her powerful angelic vocals.
Her fans screamed along to every word. Her stage presence was one of the immediate highlights of the show, balancing the perfect amount of evocative mystery and intensity that left her crowd obsessively transfixed throughout her set. Backing her of course was her brother and creative collaborator Thomas LaRosa, and together with his blistering rock persona, they shared a special deep connection on stage. It’s no mystery why she’s on the quick rise and has become one of the artists to watch out for.
