Friday, the absolute dreams known as Alt-J will be playing at Johnny Brenda’s and the show starts at 9:30 PM. You can get your tickets here. If you couldn’t already tell with my previous Alt-J obsessed posts, Alt-J has been one of my favorite bands since I first heard their music. Every song I hear by them I’ve loved. Their debut album An Awesome Wave released in UK/EU/AU in May is already gaining well deserved award-nominating attention. An Awesome Wave comes out in the US on September 18th so Friday is the perfect time to hear new songs before the album drops! Or you can memorize all the misheard lyrics and throw the crowd off a bit for fun.
Following the release of their brilliant new album Four, Bloc Party are back to play Philadelphia at the Trocadero on Saturday!!!! The show was originally set for Tower Theatre but recently got moved. If you have your tickets to the Tower you can use them for the new venue, just make sure you get to the Trocadero for the show at 8. Tickets are still available here!
