It’s hump day and if you are anything like me, I know you’re all still recovering from the holiday weekend, but DAMMIT. BOOT ’N’ RALLY (not to be confused with Boot & Saddle, our beloved Philly venue) for a birthday party this Friday night!
Our friends over at i99 Radio are celebrating five years of success!! That’s five years of alternative rock internet radio, streaming worldwide, 24×7, if you were unaware. OH, AND’ IT’S COMMERCIAL-FREE. HOW COOL IS THAT?! Come celebrate their Birthday Bash at The Barbary (tell me that won’t leave you tongue-tied!) with one of my favorites, DREAMERS.
This will be one of the cosmic rockers first headlining shows since the release of their long-anticipated sophomore record, LAUNCH FLY LAND, which dropped April 26th!
I’m excited to hear the new material and see a full headliner set from them, as the last few shows I caught they were the opening act. They also just released an acoustic version of the lead single, “Die Happy,” as well as the trippy video for the album version. Which version will we hear Friday night? Come on out and find out for yourself!!
Opening things up Friday night are two Philly-area local acts. The Great Enough are an eclectic rock act that have a powerful live presence and will no doubt get the house a-movin’ and a-groovin’ before the main event. I saw them about a month ago right around the release of their latest single, “Voice on the Radio” and was impressed with their sound an energy. Earlier this year, they did an amazing cover of Fiona Apple’s “Criminal” for Radio 104.5 as well, putting their own fun spin on it.
Electric Church is a Philly area cover band, boasting hits of the now gone golden area of 70’s classic rock staples. More than a cover band, lead singer Nick Hopton says they “want that gritty old school feel,” and they “take these tunes and make them ours.” I got a sneak preview of the setlist and am equally as excited to see these guys take the stage and work the crowd up. So please, make sure you come out early and support your local acts starting as 7:45PM before the boys in DREAMERS rock your world.
‼️ Be advised, this is a 21+ show ‼️
