Wow, it was so great to be home visiting Philly this past month!! So much has changed since I’ve been home but the music community remains incredible and the artists that tour through Philly can tell you, we love music! SQUID has been one of my favorite bands after seeing them live at SXSW in 2019 and I was so stoked to find out they were flying in from the UK to start their tour off with a sold-out show in Philadelphia, playing one of my favorite Philly venues Johnny Brenda’s on November 13th. SQUID has always been incredible live, and I couldn’t catch tracks from their new album Bright Green Field out now:
Johnny Brenda’s was buzzing as the show was sold-out and Nina Ryser opened the show with tracks from her new album Paths of Color released last year. Check out some footage below:
Squid took the stage and informed us that Philly was the first stop on the tour and they might be jet-lagged. Luckily, you couldn’t tell as they blasted through an epic set that covered the new album Bright Green Field including one of my favorite tracks “Boy Racers”. No matter where you are at Johnny Brenda’s you have a good view, but check out my birds eye of the band below:

Squid are now touring the West Coast playing a show in LA at Moroccan Lounge, Constellation Room in Santa Ana on Friday, and Rickshaw Stop in San Francisco on Saturday!!
