Hey friends!!! Cher here with some great news. Not only am I lucky enough to be back in Philly on this glorious, warm, sunny, (feels like summer in winter) day, but one of my favorite bands (especially to experience live) SQUID is in town and playing a sold-out show at Johnny Brenda’s TONIGHT!!!
SQUID consists of university friends Louis Borlase, Oliver Judge, Arthur Leadbetter, Laurie Nankivell and Anton Pearson who connected over a love of jazz and ambient music in Brighton, England. Their eclectic tastes helped them to create a new sound all of their own, and they released their debut EP Lino in 2017. Followed by more jams via EPs and singles until this year, when they released their epic debut of brand new music with Bright Green Field. Listen now below:
SQUID plays a sold-out show in Philly tonight at one of our favorite venues, Johnny Brenda’s!!! If you were lucky enough to score tickets for tonight, doors are at 7PM, make sure you get there by 8PM for opener Nina Ryser! Ryser was born and raised in Brooklyn, NYC but now calls Philly her home- which we love! She studied music composition at Bard with a focus on electronic music. A few things to remember for the show tonight: don’t forget your ID and proof of vaccination! A note from Johnny Brenda’s:
“In accordance with Philadelphia’s citywide mandate, attendees will be required to show proof of Covid-19 vaccination for entry to all Johnny Brenda’s events. Please note that negative PCR / antigen test results will not be accepted. We ask that you bring your vaccination card, a copy of your vaccination card, or a legible photo of your vaccination card on your phone. Full vaccination must be completed at least 14 days prior to the date of the event. If you are unable or unwilling to provide proof of vaccination, we will refund your tickets in full.
