The Districts were meant to play in Philly three times this week before the New Year including two headlining sold-out shows at Johnny Brenda’s, and tonight supporting Dr. Dog on their last tour at The Fillmore in Philadelphia. The Districts unfortunately (but justly) had to cancel their shows at Johnny Brenda’s this week and will not be able to perform tonight – see the band’s announcement on Instagram below:
We are really feeling for the band right now and hope those affected in the band and community get well soon! It’s important we all work stay safe out there not just for ourselves but for our families, friends, and communities, so we can get back to dancing at shows together again. Anyone with tickets to the sold-out Johnny Brenda’s show this week will receive refunds.
We have a lot to look forward to in the new year with The Districts! The band will be heading to the UK and EU in the New Year, starting with Cardiff on January 22nd, and will be stopping in London around the upcoming release of their fifth full-length album Great American Painting with an In-Store and signing event at Rough Trade East on February 4th (get your tickets now via DICE here!) and a show at Lafayette in London on their album release day February 5th!
