The Wombats wrote their new album remotely from their respective homes, with lead singer Matthew “Murph” Murphy in LA, bassist Tord Øverland Knudsen in Oslo, and drummer Dan Haggis in London. The band discussed plans for the record each day on Zoom, recorded their individual parts and sent them to producers Jacknife Lee (U2, The Killers), Gabe Simon (Dua Lipa, Lana Del Rey), Paul Meaney (Twenty One Pilots, Nothing But Thieves), Mark Crew (Bastille, Rag‘n’Bone Man) and Mike Crossey (The 1975, The War on Drugs, Yungblud) who mixed them into the finished tracks. Murph said of the process, “It was pure madness, to be honest”. This pure madness turned into a great album!
