Johnny Brenda’s was SOLD OUT on Friday for punk icons The Spits with Dark Thoughts and Night Birds!
Kicking off the show was Dark Thoughts, based out of West Philly. Their latest album, Must Be Nice, was released in December 2019.

Next on the bill was another local band from just over the bridge in New Jersey, Night Birds. The crowd was also feeling the hometown love, as the band pointed out: “Since our third show as a band 12 years ago, Philly has always been the best city. We always love coming here.”

By the time The Spits hit the stage, the crowd was ready to mosh and the pit opened up. But first, in classic Spits fashion, a singing monkey warmed up the crowd.

The energy was through the roof as the crowd sang, moshed, and crowd surfed along throughout the set. After a long hiatus, The Spits are back on tour in support of their 6th and most recent album, VI, released in October 2020.
